Hello. I have tried searching for a solution, but haven’t found anything yet. Maybe I’m looking up the wrong things.

BUT- I make custom items. How can I let customers pick one thing they like, and then let me know how they want it finished?

For example - want a jasper necklace? Pick your actual stone (say: 4-12 options), then, tell me what size (14", 16", etc).

Currently, it appears I would need to have sooo many options. (ie: stone A, 14". stone A. 16", stone A. 18", stone B, 14", stone B 18", etc). I could put the work into that, but then I run the problem of inventory. It would let someone order stone a in each of the sizes, but there is only one stone.).

In Etsy, I have that the customer can pick their stone. Then, they pick the size (and the price changes with the size).

How can I do that with Shopify?? Thank you.

If you just need information (doesn’t effect price or inventory) then you can use Line Item Properties to collect info from customers.

If the information DOES effect price, then it might be better to use something like this:
