Want to disable Buy Now Button but it's not working

Topic summary

A user inherited a Shopify store and is attempting to remove the “Buy Now” button from product pages, leaving only “Add to Cart.”

The issue: While the theme customizer shows only the “Add to Cart” button, both buttons appear on the live site.

The motivation: When customers use “Buy Now,” fields from the Infinite Options app don’t carry through to checkout or order lists—only “Add to Cart” preserves this data.

An image comparison demonstrates the discrepancy between the customizer preview and the actual storefront.

The discussion remains open with no solution provided yet.

Hi there, I’ve been trying to disable the Buy Now button on the products page so it will only have the Add to Cart Button.
When customizing the theme the only button visable is the Add to Cart Button but online it’s showing both.
If you look at the image below and link I’m providing you’ll see the difference

How can I get rid of this option?

Note: I did not create this website, it was handed over as they were getting out of the business.
The reason why I want the Buy Now Button removed is because Infinite Options fields do not come up on Checkout or Order List when the Buy Now Button is selected, only Add to Cart Button works.

There is no difference, and there is no Buy Now button. Looks exactly like your theme editor screenshot. I’ve browsed multiple products, no Buy Now button.

Hello :waving_hand:

Got it thanks for the extra context! The issue makes total sense now. The “Buy Now” (Dynamic Checkout) button bypasses the normal cart process, which is why your Infinite Options fields don’t appear on the order or checkout it skips the step where those custom options are stored.

Here’s how I’ll handle this for you:

1. I’ll completely remove or disable the Buy Now button from all product pages, both on desktop and mobile.

2. I’ll make sure only the Add to Cart button is visible and working properly.

3. I’ll also test it with your Infinite Options setup to confirm that the custom fields carry through correctly to the checkout and order details.

Once done, everything will work as expected customers will be required to use the Add to Cart process, and your Infinite Options selections will appear correctly on every order.

Would you like me to go ahead and implement that fix for you now?

Best regards,
