Yes you can do it by 2 method.
1 - Custom Liquid
2 - Go to theme customizer, then add blocks on the footer and it will add one by one.

Here I set 3 column check the screenshot . and hover on the at the very end of the block you can see add new block there. and it will add as a new column.. check this screenshot. and now it is now 4 column. i added a text block there. can be added menu block.. or any other block there.
