Warehouse-Theme AMP | Slide Cart Drawer – Duplicate Mini Cart Issue

Hi everyone,

We’re currently using the Warehouse-Theme and also want to use the AMP | Slide Cart Drawer app on our website

Our current issue is that when the Slide Cart opens, the original mini cart from the theme is still visible in the background. A suggested solution I’ve already come across was to change the cart setting from “Drawer” to “Page”. We tried this, and indeed, it removes the duplicate mini cart.

However, this introduces another issue: when a customer adds a product to the cart, they are automatically redirected to the cart page, which we definitely want to avoid.

Since switching to “Page” mode isn’t a practical solution for us, we need another way to permanently hide or disable the original theme mini cart without affecting the functionality of the Slide Cart Drawer.

Does anyone have experience or suggestions on how we can solve this issue?

I am sure you definitely have a good reason to use an app for a feature that is default on Shopify.

What extra features or unique requirement of yours does the app fulfill?

Also please share your url to inspect.

Hi Shadab,

Thanks for your message. Unfortunately, our theme does not have the built-in option to enable a slide cart. The app allows us to integrate this functionality into our theme.

If our theme had the capability to support this feature natively without requiring a third-party app, we would certainly use it. However, we believe that this type of cart can help improve our conversion rate.

Okay, I see the problem. The cart is updating on adding item to cart but it doesn’t slide open until you click on it.

Also I am sure you have noticed the cart items does not show the right item or the right quantity on adding or removing an item until a user manually refreshes the page.

Is the app you are using free or does it come with a cost? If there’s a cost how much is it and is it one time or monthly?

I was unaware of the other problems. Thank you for pointing that out. Also the App is free as we are using the unpaid version.

No worries I have actually encountered few bugs lately on these cart functionalities so just remembered to check those out.

Also it’s great that the app is free but it does kind of have a flaw it should have the ability to override the default functionality.

I will check this from the url you provided tomorrow to see if I can help using Google chrome inspector but i will most probably need Collab access to your store to check and remove the default functionality since it’s not one of the free themes within Shopify.

Also check if the app solves this problem of cart not updating dynamically which I pointed out, it should but if it does not you will probably need to look for another app or custom code
