So I know this topic has been covered multiple times, but I feel like this should be such an easy fix! I have had my business selling gaming computers for 5 years now and my biggest struggle has always been low profit margins. After employee pay, overhead, boxing materials, etc. we are lucky to profit 5%. So on a $1,000 build we may make $50.
We also really need to keep up our sales volume and Shop Pay/Affirm, Klarna, PayPal Credit, help a ton with getting sales. Sadly of course those apps all charge the Seller (why I don’t understand?) and often times we’re looking at 5% to 8% of the total sale, so we then go negative or break even.
All I want for my shop is to be able to tack on a fee for anyone using FINANCING options, maybe 5%-10% extra on top of the MSRP pricing if someone chooses to finance. It seems to be impossible though. I’ve tried multiple apps, the idea of raising the price of everything and then offering a 10% discount to those who don’t finance, but everything has to be done manually if that’s the case.
I think this is a VERY important topic and something that should be an option for Shopify store owners. We shouldn’t have to eat financing fees as hard as we do.
Thanks,
