We send out “activate your account” emails to new customers. Once they activate the account we add permissions for some of our store products. We want to know when someone activates their account. Is there a way to get an email sent to the admin person that verifies that a customer did activate their account?

Although this feature isn’t natively available on the Shopify admin, you can look into installing a third-party notifications app to help you achieve this. I went to our Shopify App store and found a couple of apps that you may be interested in, feel free to take a closer look at them below:
It looks like both of those apps will allow you to set up email notifications for when a customer account is created on your store. Just a note however that these apps are made by third-party developers outside of Shopify. So if you have any questions about them I would recommend getting in touch with the app support team directly, as they are best equipped to answer app-specific queries.
This is a common request for Shopify Merchants doing B2B/wholesale or using an account approval workflow. This feature is available in the Customer Fields app. You may also be interested in using the app to automatically add customer tags to approved customers.
