- Hi there i have lost the access of my old GA account which had last years trafic and analytics records. To recover that and prove the ownership of the website i’ve been asked by google team to upload a txt file and the URL should be abcd.com/verification.txt i have uploaded in the content file and put a redirection in Shopify but now they are asking that it take us some other link which it should not. Pls guide how i can resolve it
Hello @Azeem-ailaaj Shopify doesn’t provide hosting service so you can’t upload a file like verification.txt if you created a new Google Analytics or Old Google Analytics account you will get the meta verification code from the Google Analytics account just copy and paste it into your Shopify theme.liquid file before the tag and then try to verify it will work definitely.
Hi there i need to prove that we own this website backend in order to recover my old account by providing the verification the steps google has asked me to follow is have to upload txt file or write some text on the page www.website.com/analytics.txt how can i achieve this URL ? if i made page it will be like www.website.com/pages/analytics.txt which is not acceptable by google. please let me know how to fix this

Currently I done that using redirects but they are not accepting it because it redirect to shopify URL
