Website Traffic Drops the Very Next Day – Need Help

Hi everyone,
I’m running an online store Frubs.com, which sells medical wear in Pakistan. My website gets traffic on some days, but the very next day, it drops sharply. I’m already working on SEO, and sometimes my organic traffic spikes but doesn’t stay consistent.

Has anyone else faced this issue? Could it be related to SEO fluctuations, technical errors, or something with my Shopify setup? I’d really appreciate any insights or suggestions to help me stabilize and grow my traffic consistently.

Thanks in advance!

Fluctuations in traffic are quite common, especially if most of your visits come from organic search or social media. A few things you can check:

  • SEO: Google rankings can shift daily — consistency usually comes from building authority (content + backlinks).

  • Technical: Make sure your site speed, mobile usability, and indexing are healthy (Google Search Console can help spot issues).

  • Traffic sources: If most spikes come from one channel (e.g. a social post), that will naturally drop the next day.

To stabilize, focus on building a mix of channels (organic + email + paid + social) rather than relying only on SEO.

Hi @sultanaliseo

I know how disheartening it is to see your traffic go up and down like a yo-yo, especially when you’re putting in the work. It’s a super common and frustrating situation when you’re growing a store, so don’t feel like you’re alone in this.

What’s likely happening is that Google is “testing” out your pages. It’ll give you a temporary boost in the rankings to see how real users interact with your site, and if it doesn’t get the signals it likes, it’ll drop you back down. To know for sure, you’ll want to play detective on your big traffic days. Jump into your analytics and see exactly where that spike came from, was it truly a Google search, or maybe a social media post that did well for a day?

Google Search Console is also your best friend here, as it’ll show you the exact search terms that brought people in, revealing which rankings are fluctuating.

For a long-term fix, the best way to get more stable, consistent traffic is to focus on two things. First, create genuinely helpful blog content for your customers in Pakistan, like “How to Choose the Right Scrubs” or care guides. That builds trust and authority that Google loves over time.

Second, really focus on building your email list. SEO will always have its ups and downs, but your email list is a source of traffic you own and control, giving you a reliable way to bring people back to your store whenever you want.

It’s a marathon, not a sprint, but focusing on that solid foundation really does pay off. Good luck!

Thank you so much for such a detailed and encouraging explanation! I really appreciate you breaking it down and helping me understand why the traffic goes up and down. I’ll definitely start digging deeper into my Google Analytics and Search Console to track where the spikes are coming from. I also love your suggestion about creating helpful blog content and building an email list — that gives me a clear direction to work on for more stable growth. Really grateful for your time and guidance!

@sultanaliseo hi! while it’s true that google might be experimenting and testing the pages of your site, there can be other factors involved as well.

for example, currently Google is rolling out the August core update. so during such phases, google’s search algorithms go through significant changes. how they operate, how they rank pages, etc., changes. and a good percentage of websites notice fluctuations because of this. check if this is what is causing the issue.

also, one more important thing. if you are constantly, making changes to your site’s structure, pages, content, etc., then these fluctations can occur.

Yes, fluctuations like that are fairly common, especially if your traffic is coming mainly from SEO. Search rankings can shift daily due to competition, algorithm updates, or even how people search. It’s also worth checking for technical issues—like site speed, mobile optimization, or broken links—that can affect visibility. Beyond SEO, building a more balanced traffic mix through social media, email marketing, or paid ads can help stabilize things. Consistency usually comes from diversifying your traffic sources rather than relying on one channel. If you’d like, I can share some practical steps to smooth out those spikes, don’t hesitate!

Yes, small fluctuations (1–5%) in SEO traffic are normal since rankings change daily. If it’s more than that, check technical factors like speed, mobile-friendliness, or broken links, and reduce spikes by diversifying traffic through social media, email, or paid ads.

i have also the same issue my website traffic also drops suddenly but not recover yet.
