Weird Meta description

I was just doing a quick Google search for my own webshop to see how it’s showing up these days, and what I saw honestly made my jaw drop.

My store is called Bobbie Rose, a women’s fashion boutique. But what appeared under my site in the search results was:

“A fish’s favorite sound! Do your fish get excited when they hear the feeding bells. If you’ve been loving…”

At first, I thought maybe I clicked on the wrong link. But no – this was my actual domain: bobbierose.nl. ?

What’s crazy is that this has nothing to do with my site. I’ve manually set a proper meta description in my theme’s code, and it looks like this:

<meta property="og:description" content="Ontdek trendy damesmode bij Bobbie Rose in Breda. Shop merken als The Lola Club, Amaya Amsterdam en Honnête Atelier. Gratis verzending vanaf €40, snelle levering en eenvoudig retourneren. Bezoek onze boetiek of bestel online!">

It’s all about stylish women’s clothing, just like it should be. But Google is showing a totally random sentence about fish and feeding bells?

Naturally, I was curious, so I Googled that exact sentence (“A fish’s favorite sound…”) — and to my surprise, I found dozens of other online shops with that exact same weird line showing up in their meta descriptions. Different sites, different industries, but the same fish line.

I’ve attached two screenshots:

I’m wondering now if this is some kind of Shopify theme glitch, a broken app injecting weird placeholder content, or maybe even a Google indexing bug? It’s really bizarre – especially since it seems to be affecting multiple stores.

Has anyone else run into this?
Would love to hear if others are experiencing the same issue – or even better, if someone has an idea what’s causing it.

If you search for the phrase:
“A fish’s favorite sound! Do your fish get excited when they hear the feeding bells. If you’ve been loving…”
you’ll find endless search results filled with Shopify stores showing that exact same sentence in their meta descriptions.

It’s the same bizarre line showing up across completely unrelated stores — clothing, home goods, jewelry, you name it. It’s as if this fish quote somehow ended up in the metadata of dozens (maybe hundreds) of Shopify sites.

At this point, it doesn’t feel like a coincidence — something is clearly off.

I have tried to search your website on Google and here is what it shows on my end in the search results:

I did not encounter the situation you said in the question, so it should not be related to the Shopify theme glitch or the bug from Google. It is mostly due to the way how Google performs or shows the result to the visitors in different areas or places based on their likes or interests. Therefore it is not your store fault, but if you would like to make the format of search results steady, you can consider doing some technical works like Structured Data JSON LD, in this way it can let Google know the content you would like to display and make results richer in some ways also.
