I’m getting started as a Shopify freelancer in 2026, focusing on full store builds and setup — and I want to structure my service offerings to align with what clients typically expect today.
I have two main questions:
1. What are the most common service tiers (Starter / Basic / Advanced / Premium / Enterprise) that Shopify freelancers offer in the current market?
How many tiers are standard (3, 4, 5)?
What names do you give these packages?
Do you see most freelancers offering flat-rate packages or fully custom quotes?
2. What is typically included in each tier, and what do freelancers limit or exclude at each level?
I’m trying to avoid overdelivering in low tiers and underpricing advanced ones.
I’d love to know:
Store setup basics — How many products are included per tier? Do people offer theme setup, or custom theme edits?
Shipping setup — Are freelancers setting up shipping for 1 country or all countries requested? Is this tier-dependent?
Pages included — e.g. About Us, FAQ, Contact, Legal, etc.
SEO — Do freelancers typically offer on-page SEO in basic tiers, or only advanced?
Product descriptions — Are these included across all tiers or only at a certain level?
App installation/configuration — Which apps do you normally set up in each tier?
Design changes / branding — To what extent is this expected in lower vs. higher tiers?
Training / handover — Do people include client training calls or video walkthroughs, and at which tier?
I’ve searched the forums and haven’t found a clear, up-to-date breakdown that reflects how people are currently positioning Shopify freelancer packages.
Any templates, screenshots, Fiverr/Upwork examples, or personal experience would be super helpful.
Also, if anyone here offers any kind of training, coaching, or mentorship specifically around structuring Shopify freelancer service packages, I’d be happy to take part or join a session. Open to paid options as well.

The best advice is to figure that out yourself. As begginer, I think you do not need packages, nor to be concerned that much on " training, coaching, or mentorship specifically around structuring Shopify freelancer service packages"
Start by just giving quotes to people, based on your previous work. Calculate your time spent and desired pay. At the start, try a lower rate to get more work and more of a sense of how much time it needs. Then slowly increase the rate.
And be honest, don’t advertise as “expert” when you know you are not, yet.
Finally, please try not to use ChatGPT that much It is also against forum rules. And as James said, you could get answers from it, too. I thought of copying answers here, but I do not see a point. It is like AI talks to AI.

A merchant account is not required to participate on the forums therefore they are a peer-to-peer entrepreneurial space NOT merchant focused.

inb4 “it says Shopify Merchants Community” just cause it says “green” on the food label doesn’t mean it’s organic nor does “natural” mean it’s good for you.
“merchant focus” is at most 80% true , they just do a slop poor job of communicating peer-to-peer or outright purposefully avoid such clarity because it would hurt merchants feelings.
So they can treat the forums with a false sentiment of being some type of free support vector or relief valve; read: retainment strategy ; see: every other entitled do-my-work-for-me post.
That’s why this Ask & Offer sub forum exists; even though it’s supposed to be a new pseudo job forums replacement it’s a limp half measure. With bad policies that makes it more of a free-for-all , if not an outright septic tank “random” channel.
Mostly abused by people trying to game the system for quicker free design work instead of using the actual design forum and waiting another day or so for the third world to do free work in the hopes of a tip or access codes to game the partner tiers.
And the occasional “modern” stuff with low engagement like partner AMA’s: Ask Me Anything Q&A > Partner AMA Questions
So with that in mind actual meta questions about things affecting solution providers are part of the community and should be MORE desirable* than pretty much all the rest of the noise considering how much those costs do end up affecting merchants; but you’ll never see a merchant asking for such a reasonable thing no oh no.
*Though not so desirable it’s an excuse to not hold posters to account for stuff like: not bothering to even do 30 minutes of basic internet research, or as you pointed possibly bloating their ask beyond reason by pushing it through an LLM before posting for humans to actually deal with.
Your making your audience the entire world, overly broad do ONE thing unless you got the runway and deep enough pockets to burn on Ads; without violating partner terms if your a shopify partner.
For partners there used to be a slack which would have been perfect for this but shopify killed it last month. And the dev forums aren’t really meant for this, though at least one convo on trying to get some sort of partner area somewhere.
Those with a high level of shopify experience already might want to apply to shopdevalliance https://shopdevalliance.com/ or look for other similar “communities” lol .
Beyond that self awareness is needed, your asking others to do ALL your market research for you while also being a competitor.
Ask SINGULAR scoped question, not world-cup-stadium-so-the-city-is-shutdown sized ballparks that are of the build my business models for me variety.

Thank you for the reply. I’ll take that on board. These responses all seem to suggest that most people are coming up with their own. I came up with my pricing a while back after some research however I’m a measure twice and cut once kind of person so I wanted to compare notes really, but I’m happy to also go the route of putting my own set up out there.
