What can I improve to boost sales on my new online store?

Hi, my store has been live for [email removed] 2 months, and I have had few sales, but a couple 000s impressions, mainly driven through FB/Insta paid ads. I’d appreciate any reviews/thoughts on any improvements I could make to drive conversion: www.hobbster.co.uk

Thanks

Hi @Solomond ,

It’s Kate here from the PageFly team, the Shopify Page Builder app.

We’re thrilled to hear that your store has been up and running for 2 months now. To help you enhance your store for better conversion rates, I have some suggestions:

HOMEPAGE

1. Add a favicon logo

Gaining trust and credibility from visitors is crucial. Buyers are more likely to purchase from stores they perceive as reliable and safe. Adding a favicon logo can also make your store more memorable to them.

2. Make the banner clickable and diversify fonts

Currently, the banner on your site is not clickable, and only one font is used throughout. Making the banner clickable can significantly improve navigation and user engagement. Additionally, incorporating a variety of fonts can enhance the visual appeal of your site and help differentiate between headings, subheadings, and body text, making the content more accessible and engaging to visitors.

3. Your collection names are long and difficult to quickly understand.

It’s important to include your store’s leading product categories in this section. Consider moving this section to be the first one after the hero banner. this way, visitors can get an overview of what your store offers right from the start. Also, make the images uniform and intuitive for visitors, so they can easily understand the concept without effort. For example, use a consistent background or photo style.

Here are some of the real stores like you:

Pawz

Wilder Dog

Rover Store

OTHER SUGGESTIONS

1. Mother’s Day is approaching, and you might consider creating a dedicated campaign for this occasion. A theme like ‘Dog Mom or Dog Dad’ could be a promising idea for the holiday.

2. Enhance your store’s ambiance to positively affect visitors’ moods.

Tailor the atmosphere to align with your unique style, aiming to excite visitors and motivate them to make purchases. While the ultimate goal is to generate sales and deliver value to your customers, fostering a joyful purchasing experience is also crucial. Below are some examples:

I’m confident these tips will enhance your store and boost conversion rates. I wish you the best in your endeavors. Keep up the great work!

Cheers,

Thank you Kate, I’ll take a look at each suggestion as see how I can change the store accordingly. Appreciate your time. Kind regards

Hi Solomond,

This is Amee from Gojiberry - Shopify Survey & Feedback App. I love your concept and designs, quite good for pet owners or for gifts.

To start off, I think your cover banner seems kind of busy and it was not immediately obvious to me that you are selling dog related prints & products. Perhaps featuring something simple in the background but making it more obvious.

Here are some additional tips:

Adding a blog. Adding blog posts about dogs, and targeting the right audience can help bring traffic to your site and help with your site’s overall SEO.

Influencer Collab. Since you have visually appealing products, connect with micro-influencers, send them some of your pieces, and ask them to create content for your social media and Shopify store.

Improve SEO. Make sure your keywords are well-placed and researched using keyword tools. Making sure that your site speed is good, and that your mobile experience is friendly. Also having influencers or other partners backlink to your site can help boost your rating as well.

Product reviews. Each of your products doesn’t seem to have any testimonials so far, it would be good to have a review section (and get a few of your customers to write a few reviews for your best sellers) This helps promote more consumer trust and confidence.

Hope this helps!
