Our app needs more permissions to read store data, such as orders, products, etc. The reply I got after contacting the shopify professional team is as follows:
If the you would like to have these 2 scopes, please submit a staging app ** and make sure that these 2 scopes are being utilized and we will take a look at it. When making the submission in section G, please reference the ** app and the reason you require the 2 scopes.
1 I don’t understand what staging app ** means, do I need to create a new app to submit for review?
2 I don’t understand what stage in section G is?
You can make a copy of your app as a staging app and show the Shopify review team the actual use case of those 2 scopes on that app.
For example, for order scope, you can implement some order API endpoint to send the order details to Shopify from your staging app. While reviewing the app, the Shopify review team wants how the scopes that the app asked for will be actually used so that the app does not violate their privacy guidelines.
In section G you can provide the extra testing instruction for your app. You can provide them with the login credentials for one of the development stores and ask them to review the process on that development store. Similarly, you need to provide the credentials of a third party like Amazon, eBay if your app shares the data outside of Shopify.
