What happend when add image_url instead of img_url?

Hi there i noticed that shopify highligh the img_url filter with a warning line and said that this filter is deprecated and must be replaced with the image_url. I changed it and after i noticed that some parts of the pages do not load correctly, why this happends, does anyone knows?

I tried to replace it today, but the images disappear. I noticed that the images directory changes. If before the site looked for images in CDN/files, now it searches directly in files.
