I was wondering what happens if you make a 100% discount code and use it, like where does the production cost go? And could I use it to get a shirt for free?
Depends what kind of discount code you make.
- If it’s a product-based discount code, then the product would be $0.00 but the customer would still need to pay for shipping.
- If it’s an order-based discount code, then the product + shipping would be $0.00, so the entire order would be free.
As far as ‘production costs’ go … that’s on the store owner. If you give a customer a 100% discount code, then you’re going to lose money. Nothing in life is actually free. The store owner would still be paying for the product, but the customer wouldn’t be paying anything … not much of a business model there.
