Greenstand is building open source software that allows small holder farmers and rural community members to plant trees and digitise their environmental impact by tracking each trees survival. The captured data goes through a verification process and is then tokenised and available to third party integrations through our wallet API to be passed on to the donor.
We have a hand full of partners that have written commercial integrations such as Point of Sales in Restaurants, a hubspot based token transfer automation and an online shopping basket integration.
I herewith pledge the community to help develop an extension or module (not familiar with the shopify term) that allows any online shop to add tree planting donations with direct token transfers to the consumer wallet.
As we all know climate change will bite us all much sooner than anybody would have imagined and planting trees is our best option. Financing global restoration has been the bottleneck due to a lack of transparency, traceability and frankly “user experience”. This is what you as a community could change. Looking at the total turnover that is generated through the thousands of online stores implemented by shopify the potential is huge. Greenstand as an open source community driver is a non profit organization just trying to pull the rudder into the direction of a brighter future. We believe in being able to connect the 1 Billion people on this planet that consume goods, have money and can not plant trees to the 1 Billion people on earth that are too poor to even leave a tree standing and are lacking alternatives to degrading their own land even further.
