What is your opinion about AI in Ads?

Tell me your views on this.

I think AI in ads is really useful when it’s treated as a tool instead of a replacement for creativity. It helps brands create ad variations faster, test different ideas, generate product visuals, and save a lot on production costs. We’re also seeing more businesses explore AI Meta Ads agents to automate campaign optimization and improve targeting without constantly managing everything manually. Especially for ecommerce, AI makes it easier for smaller brands to compete without massive marketing budgets. The brands doing well with it still focus on good storytelling and understanding their customers, AI just helps them execute faster.

To be completely honest, I think the current flood of AI in advertising is doing far more harm than good for most brands. We are currently seeing a massive wave of AI slop, meaning generic images, sterile copywriting, and robotic videos that feel completely soulless. Consumers have developed a very sharp filter for this, and they can spot automated content in a split second. When a brand relies on these lazy, artificial visuals, it instantly erodes customer trust and makes the business look cheap or even deceptive.

In a landscape where almost everyone is using the same automated tools to create perfect but empty ads, the best way to stand out is actually the exact opposite. True differentiation now comes from raw honesty, real human connection, and unpolished storytelling. People are craving authenticity more than ever, and they want to see the real faces and genuine voices behind a business.

If you want to build long term trust and boost your conversions, focus on genuine user-generated content and authentic human experiences that automated algorithms simply cannot replicate. Staying true to real human elements is what will actually set your brand apart in a crowded market.

To be honest, I’m not 100% supporting using AI in ads, especiall with the aim of utterly replacing human but it is an unavoidable trend these days.
AI as a tool is a great choice I have to say, it’s time saving, cost-efficient if you know how to make use of it. But replacing human involvement is not cool haha.

On the positive side we can say that AI helps analyze a large amount of data quickly and also interprete it very clearly for us to read the patterns, it can run automated optimization which took us way more time before. On the other side, however, giving the autonomy to AI and giving up the role of decision make is not a wise path. It can lack emotional nuances, real brand understanding, this can affect how customers see the product/services in ads

Overall, we must learn how to utilize AI wisely but it is undeniable of its advantages and benefits

Hello @antony007

Being a Shopify partner, I believe AI in ads will be a powerful tool to test creatives, optimize targeting and scale campaigns more quickly compared to set ups these are done manually. "That enables brands to move beyond guesswork, and better leverage data – particularly for audiences and bidding strategies.

All that said, it performs best when driven by a well-defined brand vision and well articulated product positioning. Over dependency has the potential to generate bland messaging or wasted money if the inputs are poor. The most successful results are when human expertise and creative strategy are combined with AI productivity.

The gurus say you can create 100 ads in one hour with AI.

My own experience is that a more realistic number is one good and unique ad in one hour with AI, when you go step by step through coming up with angles, generating/editing images and actually getting it live on meta (for example), which is a manual slog that all of Meta’s AI features do their best to make as slow as possible. Still the only reason I am using AI for this is that I don’t have the actual photos I need for ads, which I would definitely prefer.

AI can’t do image ads of complex products with precise details. It can do things like a generic T-shirt or a mug of coffee.

If you’re lacking on good imagery, which is 90% of businesses, it can be really helpful for editing the images and even generating new ones, but it still doesn’t replace actual photos of the business etc.
