What popup game would you test besides spin-to-win?

Spin-to-win is still the most common gamified popup I see, and it makes sense why. It’s simple, familiar, and usually gets stable 9%-15% signup rate.

But after testing a seasonal Easter game with egg-picking mechanics, I started wondering whether a lot of stores are over-relying on the wheel just because it became the default.

Easter eggs creation

In our case, the Easter version performed about 30% better than the wheel.

The obvious hypotheses are:

  • the mechanic matched the campaign better
  • it felt newer and less predictable

So now I’m curious what other formats people think are worth testing.

Not just “games” in the abstract, but mechanics that could genuinely fit a real store, a real campaign, or a real brand moment.

I work on popup gamification at Claspo, and I’d love to turn this into something useful.

If people share strong ideas here, I’ll pick one or two and try to make them available publicly for others to test.
