I thought I’d jump in on this one to offer some genuine perspective rather than try to sell you our loyalty app as the solution to your problem!
I personally faced similar problems to yourself with our store - we tried multiple different loyalty apps and we ultimately saw poor results, which is frustrating.
A few things that made a huge difference for us & some of our users:
- Making it dead simple to understand what customers get and when (E.g. - is your loyalty page clearly explaining the benefits and heavily outlining the rewards)
- Not making people jump through hoops for tiny rewards - i.e. don’t make them spend $100 just to get $5 off
- Actually telling people about the program (most apps are terrible at this) - You need to include the program as part of your email marketing strategy, on-site marketing & end of checkout
There is also the fact that if you don’t have an existing community through socials, or a strong social media presence - people may not feel enticed to join your loyalty program. You need to make it feel like a real community that people will want to be a part of - and it does go a little further than just simply deploying a loyalty app.
Hopefully some of the above helps - and for anyone who does wish to give a loyalty app a go please do consider Loyalty Wizard - we are a small startup but we genuinely care about helping our customers make their loyalty program work!
