What’s your experience with TikTok Ads vs Facebook Ads for Shopify stores in 2026?
It really depends on what you’re selling and who you’re selling to.
TikTok tends to work well for visual, impulse-buy products. Fashion, gadgets, beauty, anything that looks good in short-form video. CPCs are often lower than Meta, but conversions can be less consistent. The audience skews younger so if your product fits that demo it can work really well.
Facebook/Meta is more mature. Better retargeting, wider age range, and generally more stable ROAS once you find what works. The learning phase can be expensive though, especially with smaller budgets.
Most stores I’ve seen do better when they pick one platform first and learn it well before splitting budget across both. Running $10/day on each doesn’t give either platform enough data to optimize properly.
What are you selling? That would help narrow down which platform makes more sense to start with.

I would choose the platform in two steps.
First, check product/channel fit:
- TikTok can work well for visual, impulse-buy products where the creative explains the product fast.
- Meta/Facebook is usually steadier for retargeting, broader age ranges, and products that need more trust before purchase.
Second, check whether the SKU can survive the platform’s CPA.
A lot of stores compare TikTok vs Meta by CPC or ROAS, but the better question is:
Can this product still make money at the CPA this channel usually produces?
For each main SKU, I would calculate:
contribution before ads =
selling price after discount
- product cost
- shipping/fulfillment
- packaging
- payment fees
- refund/return reserve
That contribution number is roughly the max CPA the SKU can support on a first order.
If TikTok gives cheaper clicks but inconsistent purchase intent, the CPA can still exceed the product’s margin. If Meta has higher CPC but better purchase quality, it can still win. The answer can also be different by SKU, so I would avoid using one store-wide ROAS target for every product.
