Hello, We use Artisan and Shopify and lately we’ve ran into some issues getting them to communicate successfully. Both Shopify and Artisan haven’t been super helpful in solving these problems so I’m reaching out to the community. Here’s a list of what’s going on:
We use old codes through our Artisan POS system which could be why some of this is happening. We reuse codes for items that have sold out to keep our system less chaotic and to avoid hundreds of item codes.
Here is the list of problems:
-When we reuse a code in Artisan and delete old listings photos and add new ones for some reason that doesn’t transfer over to Shopify and both the new and old photos show up on our website. This is odd because in Artisan it only has the new photos. We then have to manually go into shopify and delete all the old images here as well.
-We’ve recently added wholesale items to our site( Before it was only our members work) and they are all falling under “Handwork Co-operative” for the vendor instead of their actual name in Shopify. This is becoming problematic because we need to go into each item after it’s made and manually change all the vendor names to the correct one for each item which is time consuming.
-Why is all consignment/wholesale under “Handwork” as the vendor? They all have their own codes and vendor profiles in Artisan so this shouldn’t be happening. Member works easily transfers over to the correct vendor and nothing needs to be manually done.
-When a new collection is made in Shopify after the online codes are made in Artisan we still need to manually add the items to the collection. How do we avoid this? I believe it’s because they’re falling under "Handwork ‘’ as the vendor instead of their correct name.
-Even when a new collection is made in Shopify before I start making listings in Artisan, I still have to manually change the vendor code and collection in shopify to get the products to show up. Why isn’t wholesale automatically under the correct name like our member work?
-Maybe we just need to add the wholesale names under the vendor column in Shopify so they don’t automatically list Handwork as the vendor? I couldn’t figure out how to add vendors through Shopify.
-Some items are marked as not in stock when they really are. Artisan shows the right inventory but Shopify doesn’t (even when the task manager is refreshed) I have to go into the product on Shopify and manually add the inventory in.
