Help!
- My Shopify domain is wrong. I have no idea why my Shopify-managed domain is “baby-bits-com.myshopify.com”. I cannot seem to change it to the correct one which is “baby-bits.myshopify.com”.
- When I try to change my primary domain to baby-bits.com, it somehow says “Not Connected”. When I click Retry Connection, selected Shopify as provider & clicked Verify Connection, there is an error.
- This comes out.
I really need help on this, thank you & your immediate response is greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Sanie
You need to enter Cname value in your domain CP. Where did you purchase the domain? If it was through Godaddy, try connecting automatically.

Hi Digital_Imran,
I purchased my domain from Shopify. Really stuck, don’t know how to go about it. Thank you for your response!
Hi @BabyBits
If it says Not Connected, you’ll want to make sure your DNS settings are pointed to Shopify. If you’ve purchased your domain through a third party, then you need to edit the following DNS settings:
Your A record should point to Shopify’s IP address, which is 23.227.38.65
Your www CNAME record should point to shops.myshopify.com
You can also contact Shopify Support here to check further.

Hey, @BabyBits .
Thank you for reaching out. I’m sorry to hear you are having difficulties with your domain.
To clarify, the domain you want to be your primary domain is baby-bits.com? It looks like it may be a Google domain, not a Shopify managed domain, is that correct? You will need to enter the correct CNAME record as it is currently empty. It must have shops.myshopify.com as the CNAME record. If this is a third-party domain, you must log into your account with them to enter a CNAME record in the DNS settings. If it is a Shopify managed domain, you should be able to click manage beside the domain and add a CNAME record.
Your Shopify managed domain baby-bits-com.myshopify.com would have been selected when you set up your account and it cannot be changed. However, once you change your primary domain then this domain will not be used.
Please let me know if you have any questions!
