my Shopify payment is on hold and Shopify is asking me for documents, but I’m a dropshipper what can I do?
Hi, @THKS1 ,
When it comes Shopify Payments being on hold, our teams have a pretty straightforward of resolving this matter which I hope to outline for you now.
We always refer you to any red banners in your admin first. This is the best place to see of any holds on your account as well as next steps in order to resolve these. So please look for any red banners in your admin and follow any instructions listed. If we are asking you for a document, we will also provide a space within your admin to upload said documents. If your document gets denied, we will also provide an explanation as to why.
A direct email from one of our accounts teams is also a great option to look for. If you have a direct correspondence from our team, replying to that can also help you resolve this hold.
What sort of document are you being asked for? Most of these reviews are standard and are to verify your identity and the address you have listed in the information section of your store. I have attached this link for you to review. It has all the accepted documents we can accept when it comes to these verifications.
Now, if your documents keep getting denied and you’re not sure as to why or the instructions from the banners is to contact support, you can reach out to our Support Team so they can look deeper into your account and see where the error is coming from.
I hope I was able to clearly outline how this process works. If you have anything to add or clarify, please do so. I am happy to further assist.
because i dropship using shopify, so there are some document i dont have, like the Proof of business association, Proof of Inventory, and for shipping information i only got 1 sale so far, and they are asking for 10
Thanks for that extra bit of info.
Dropshipping is a very popular business model on the platform so I wouldn’t be too worried about having to attach some explanations with the documents you are submitting. Our teams encounter similar stores all the time.
Have you tried submitting the required documents yet? In the field where you upload said documents, we would’ve also provided a space for you to include any comments or notes regarding what you are submitting. Feel free to utilize this space to further explain your situation as well.
For example, you mentioned only having 1 sale to show for their shipping document requirement. This is totally fine. I would just detail this situation in the comments. You can possibly upload another document showing your store’s age as well: your first Shopify bill as an example or simply noting your first invoice number in the comments.
Proof of business association can be your account information with the dropshipping supplier you are using. You can share your product catalog that you have gotten from these apps/suppliers to display how you are working with them as well as proof of inventory. As long as you include enough comments with these documents, our team can get a better picture of you and your business and review the things that they need to.
And again, if the document gets denied, we will provide you an explanation as to why and you can try again. However if your attempts keep failing and you are still not sure as to why, that is when you should reach out to our Support Team so they can dig deeper with the respective teams to see where the error is coming from. They will be able to provide you with more store-specific information to resolve the matter.
However, I would first try to upload whatever documents you have on your end to showcase the information we are asking for. Provide them with as much explanation as you can regarding why this is the document you are submitting then we can go from there. As long as your documents are clear and authentic with comments that give us a clear picture of the business, the team reviewing this should have no issue removing these holds for you.
