We’re a US site - www.bath4all.com and this is what our analytics > sessions by location looks like:
I’m guessing China, Singapore, and Honk Kong are some sort of crawlers and bots, but since there is so much f it, it’s messing up our analytics.
Is there a way to block it, and is it safe to block it?

Do you plan to sell to these countries? If no, then look at a country blocker.

The heavy traffic from China, Singapore, and Hong Kong is almost certainly from bots and scrapers, not real shoppers and it’s completely safe to block most of this traffic if you don’t serve customers in those countries.
Go to Online Store > Preferences > Bot protection (only on Plus plans).
Or Use a Firewall / CDN Layer like Cloudflare.

Your graphic looks VERY similar to mine. Do not install an app to block any country and I will tell why in a moment. First I would like you to know what happened to me from the beginning.
17 days ago, I started noticing a high volume visits from China (like something INSANE!). I thought it very unusual. Then after 2 days I received an email from a host in China asking me if I was related to a company in China. I obviously answered “NO”.
Here is their email verbatim: “We are the domain name registration service company in Shanghai, China. We received an application from Baokang Ltd on November 6, 2025. They want to register “the name of MY company” as their internet keyword and Chinese domains (list of domains with MY DOMAIN + CN in the end). But after reviewing it, we notice this name conflicts with your company name or trademark. In order to handle this matter properly, it’s necessary to send a message to you and ascertain whether this firm is your business partner in China?”
Soon after I received an email from the person who wanted to use the name of MY company in China: “We are the company who submitted the application to register NAME OF MY COMPANY as Chinese domain name and internet keyword. We’re planning to register the Chinese domain names “my domain with Chinese variations” and internet keyword “NAME OF MY COMPANY” and have submitted our application. Currently, we are waiting for Mr. Matt Liu’s approval. These CN domains and internet keyword are very important for us to expand our business in China. Despite Mr. Matt Liu advised us to choose a different name, we will persist with this name.”
After this, they started sending daily emails harassing me!
I contacted my domain host and explained what was happening and if I was taking some risk. They informed me that my account is secured and my domain protected.
Since the Chinese people were harassing me daily, I decided to install an app to BLOCK THEM for GOOD!
And, ha!
2-3 days later there was a message on my Google Ads account stating that they were about to suspend my account and that ALL my ads were not serving because there was a malicious link on my website and my website was compromised.
I knew the only thing I did new in the last few days was to install that app which blocks countries. So I was positive the “malicious link” was there.
I contacted Shopify Support (which by the way is incredible helpful!) and the person was able to scan my website and confirm that that app (the one which blocks countries) was redirecting the visits from China, Singapore, and Council Bluffs to a malicious link outside of my website.
I contacted the app support and they told me a story not too convincing. I of course, deleted the app, cleaned the code, and contacted Google Ads again. They scanned my website and said I was free on malicious link.
End of the story: the visits from China is still coming (because now I don’t have the app that blocks the country anymore) and getting bigger and bigger every day. There is nothing I can do. I wish there was. But the moral of the story is: DO NOT INSTALL AN APP TO BLOCK ANY COUNTRY. It’s not safe as stated by Google Ads. It looks like if we are advertising, even if we do not advertise on that specific country, it looks like Google wants everyone who uses their engine to have access to any website in the world (even if it means snooping around/ copying content/and in my case trying to open a website in China with the name of MY COMPANY.
Very frustrating!
@CD so you installed a sh!tty app and your advice is don’t install any app. LOL
And a country blocker doesn’t have anything to do with email. Anyone can see new shopify stores and the email that they’re registered to.
I use Blockify and my Google Ads have zero issues.
For email, just mark as spam and move on. LOL
Oh dear! I know very well that a country blocker app doesn’t have anything to do with email, of course!
I installed the app to prevent those perverts from visiting my website. As I stated above, they are still sending me emails!!!

Be smart utilize the existing conversations and free effort that exists.
Yes that’s a normal part of being a merchant here. We all get those emails. Better to just get used to scam and spam emails. Don’t reply. Just mark as spam and delete.
