I am looking for recommendations for the best app to use for low stock alerts. I am looking to add a low stock alert to my website when my inventory falls below a certain level e.g. two left in stock. I am also looking to receive low stock alerts to my email address so I know when inventory is low.
Thank you for reaching out to the Community! I’m happy to provide some assistance with locating an app that will notify you when products are low in stock.
To successfully achieve this, I recommend checking out the Shopify App Store. We have various apps available that may allow you to complete this. For ease, I’ve gone ahead and made a few suggestions listed below that you can look into:
As you are looking for an app with specific features, I’d also recommend getting in touch with the app developers directly. They will be able to provide clarification on an app’s capabilities and customizations to confirm whether or not the app will fit your shop’s needs. To get in contact with an app developer, you can head to the Shopify App Store and select Support > Send A Message.
Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.
You can consider the StockBot Low Stock Alert by StoreBuilder. With its free plan, you can monitor up to 200 products in your store. Set desired low stock levels and receive regular email updates, either daily or weekly, for products that have reached those levels. This feature prevents the inconvenience of running out of popular or high-profit-margin items.
I understand you’re looking for a reliable app to set up low stock alerts for your Shopify store. I’d recommend checking out Merchbees Low Stock Alert. This app allows you to:
Set custom low stock thresholds per product (e.g. be notified when 2 left in stock)
Receive email alerts when products hit the low stock threshold
View low stock reports to see which products need restocking
Set different alerts for variants of the same product
Merchbees makes it easy to stay on top of your inventory levels. You can specify the exact quantity you want to trigger alerts at, ensuring you’ll be notified before a product is out of stock.
The email alerts are handy for getting notifications whenever a product needs to be restocked. And the low stock reports give you an overview of your current inventory status.
As an added bonus, Merchbees has excellent customer support in case you need any assistance setting up or using the app. I highly recommend checking them out if you want a comprehensive solution for monitoring and managing low inventory.
Let me know if you have any other questions! I’m happy to provide app recommendations to help manage your Shopify store.
You might want to check out Orlio - it sends you email alerts when your inventory drops below a minimum stock level or goes out of stock. It uses advanced forecasting algorithms to analyze your past sales and automatically calculate the optimal minimum stock levels, so you don’t miss out on sales. It also supports multiple locations if that’s something you need.
Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions.
I hope you’re doing well! I wanted to recommend my Shopify app, IvixLabs Low Stock Notifier, for managing low stock notifications.
The app offers customizable filters, allowing you to define rules for identifying low-stock products. Notifications can be sent via email or Telegram for added convenience.
If you have any questions or would like more details, feel free to reach out—I’d be happy to help!
Hi Nowadays it’s possible in Shopify without a third party app. I made a tutorial for that on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4WitTLgUpwo
(It’s in German but you can follow my screen)
Just to be upfront, this is my own app, but it may help in this case. I recently released autoStockist, a Shopify app for low-stock and out-of-stock alerts.
It sends immediate email notifications when products reach your chosen stock levels, with thresholds configurable per product or collection, and also alerts you when items fully sell out. If you’d rather not get individual emails, you can switch to daily or weekly summary reports instead.
There’s also a dashboard showing all current low and out-of-stock products, along with early trend data on sell-through speed and suggested restock amounts (those predictive features are still in beta).
Happy to answer any questions, and I’m always open to feedback or feature ideas.
Hi! If you’re looking for both customer-facing and merchant-facing low stock alerts, I’d recommend choosing an inventory management app rather than just a notification app.
For your use case, the key features to look for are:
Set custom low stock thresholds (e.g. alert when stock drops below 2 units).
Receive email notifications when inventory reaches that threshold.
Keep inventory updated in real time, especially if you sell on multiple channels.
Optionally, support reorder points and inventory planning as your store grows.
We’ve built Nventory to help merchants manage exactly these kinds of inventory challenges. You can configure low stock alerts, monitor inventory levels, and stay on top of replenishment before products run out. If you’re on Shopify, you can install Nventory directly from the Shopify App Store and see if it matches your workflow.
One thing to note: displaying messages like “Only 2 left in stock” on your storefront is typically handled by your Shopify theme or a dedicated product availability app, while email notifications and inventory monitoring are usually managed by your inventory management solution.
