We have been using a shipping app to calculate our LTL freights (FedEx Freight and TForce) and the built in Shopify API for the regular parcel freight (FedEx and UPS).
We have a wide range of products. Some are small enough to ship parcel, but others a bulky and need to go out freight. Customer should also be able to mix and match products and the API needs to be smart enough to figure out if it can go parcel or freight.
Does anyone have a suggestion for a shipping app that can connect to our carrier accounts, provide live quotes and be able to handle parcel and LTL?
You can easily achieve this with Multi Carrier Shipping Label App. The app allows you to configure both FedEx & UPS freight services with your own freight accounts & helps you to display live quotes. It will also help to figure out whether the particular product can go with parcel or freight based on the product weight. You can even configure the carrier boxes or custom boxes based on your requirements.
Unfortunately your app is not able to provide the feature, I described in my post. We are currently using it, but it doesn’t work correctly. It can only handle LTL. We have to use the built-in Shopify API to do Parcel. So we had to create multiple shipping profiles to accommodate that. However, when we have products from two different shipping profiles it doubles freight and limits the shipping options.
