I was one of the founding members of FYC Footwear, a brand that started off inspired by skateboarding culture and has now matured over its 10+ years of existence. I designed the logo myself! Which reflects our roots in a tropical country where every variety of banana can thrive abundantly. The color yellow symbolizes happiness, and the shape resembles a smile  truly reflecting the warmth and friendliness of our people. Also, If Apple can succeed with its apple logo, why not with a banana? :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I had a idea in my mind which I explained to a designer and then with constant changes I got what I wanted.

If the Graphic Designing is not your niche, then it’s better to hire someone. Same Like I hire the Graphic Designer once I need to create the logo.

I found a great, simple logo through an AI generator, but I wasn’t thrilled about the cost to remove the watermark. My 5th-grade son stepped in, volunteered his skills, and ‘undercut’ the AI. I got my logo, and he walked away with 20 bucks.

I was inspired by the country Monaco by which I named my brand as Monokko and then designed it taking the inspiration from that country and which resulted in a beautiful logo.

If design isn’t really your strength, hiring a professional makes a lot of sense. That’s what worked for me too. I had a clear concept in mind, shared the idea and direction with a designer, and they translated it into a polished logo. Having the right person execute your vision can save time and result in something that truly represents your brand.

Designing it yourself adds another layer of meaning. The playful fruit concept mixed with local pride makes it distinct. Sometimes the simplest symbols carry the strongest emotional connection.

Designing a logo is an art but as a brand owner, it’s essential to clearly communicate the vision and story behind the brand. When founders share their purpose, values, and inspiration, they give designers the insight needed to translate that vision into a meaningful visual identity. A great logo should reflect the brand’s essence as seen through the founder’s eyes.

Love that you designed it yourself! The banana-as-smile idea is genius, so simple but instantly memorable, and the cultural nod makes it feel authentic.
