Hi** @wigs_mavis ,**

I can see that you’ve received a response from @Nia to help gather some additional context. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I understand the impact this can have on customers using the PayPal gateway but rest assured I can provide you with the best next steps.

Is the PayPal error message at checkout occurring for all of your customers who use PayPal? The reason I ask is to better understand if this is a local troubleshooting issue or if your settings need to be adjusted on PayPal’s side.

First, I would like to ensure that the PayPal gateway is set up correctly within your Shopify admin > Settings > Payments section. You can check this by following the steps in this help resource for Set up PayPal to confirm that it is properly activated on your store.

Once you’ve confirmed PayPal is set up correctly within your Shopify admin, you’ll want to log into your PayPal dashboard to verify your account credentials and check that your account settings are all set up. I’ll share this help resource on troubleshooting payment gateways that provides a few options when you’re experiencing errors within your third-party payment gateway.

Please be sure to confirm that PayPal is connected within your Shopify admin. On PayPal’s end they will need to verify if your account is set up correctly. Since PayPal is a third-party payment gateway, I’d like to suggest that your customer try reaching out to PayPal support directly as PayPal’s support team will be in the best position possible to assist going forward.
