When to focus on creating funnels?

As a small business when should I focus on creating funnels like advertorials, upsells, after purchase upsells/downsells?

@user3028 my recommendation is to focus on your core funnel first. Make sure your product pages, cart, and checkout are solid (clear, compelling, attractive) before you start building out additional funnels.

Advertorials can work but they take a lot of effort to build and maintain. If your main shopping experience isn’t converting well already, an advertorial won’t fix that. It’ll just be one more thing to manage.

Once you’re confident the foundation is working, I’d prioritize upsells from your list. They’re easier to integrate into what you already have without overcomplicating things. Simple stuff like “frequently bought together” or a post-cart upsell can boost your average order value without requiring an entirely separate funnel.

After-purchase upsells and downsells can be effective too, but most small businesses get more value from optimizing the initial purchase experience first.

Get the core right, then layer in the rest.

Hope that helps.
