When will Shopify payments be available in the Czech Republic?

Hello, don’t you have any information when will be Shopify payments available in the Czech Republic? Currently, it’s blocked for me most likely from this reason.

I took a look at our list of payment gateway options available in Czechia here, and it appears that Shopify Payments is now on that list.

Could you let me know what happens when you try to access or set up this gateway in your admin, what you see there, and what might be preventing you from proceeding?

What sort of products or services are you selling via your store, and would this be a new or existing business concern?

Hi Don, your answer really helped me out to realize that there wasn’t issue in the countries but the system needed to send some utility bill for the approval instead. Thank you!

That’s great, thanks for letting me know this was helpful and you’ve been able to get moving forward on this!

I’d like to also share some info we have on the types of documentary requirements for merchants in Czechia who wish to apply to use Shopify Payments, which may be helpful to you or other merchants in your position.

Personal identification documents we can accept include:

  • Czechia Identity Card (Občanský průkaz) - scans of front and back are required
  • Passport (Cestovní pas)
  • Driver’s license (Řidičský průkaz) - scans of front and back are required
  • Residence permit (Povolení k pobytu) - scans of front and back are required

When a merchant sets up Shopify Payments Czech Republic (Czechia) as a business, they must provide their business name, business address, Company tax ID (IČO), and VAT Number. Business type should also be confirmed as accurately as you can.

In terms of business documentation, the following are among those we accept:

  • Commercial register extract (Výpis z obchodního rejstříku)
  • VAT Registration document (Registrace DPH), if registered
  • Stanovy akciové společnosti (Articles of association)
  • Registrace obchodu (Trade registration)

Should none of these documents be available to a given merchant, they would need to reach out via our Help Centre so we could gather other info and discuss potential options.
