Where and if not, when, can we find out more about the new "Content" CMS platform?

We got a very brief preview of a new CMS platform that is in the works and we are wondering what should we expect from this new tool?

One of our biggest challenges with using Shopify is content management. To us, our content managers should be able to just pick and choose between all of the different available sections and also be able to edit the section’s fields in a flexible and easy way, all from within the same editing experience. Online Store 2.0 got us partially there but is based on content being trapped in a single-purpose JSON template file (unsustainable strategy, there is a limit to how many of these templates we can create), and limited to a single level of repeatable blocks (currently 16, but might have been upped to 50 recently?). In an ideal world we would be able to create a section that allows nesting other sections within it. Things like conditionally showing fields based on field input would help with cleaning up the UI but is also currently out of the question.

Will this new tool have a similar editing experience as the Theme Editor, or will it be a clunky list of “content” rows that we need to put together in a permanent, inflexible way?

Another thing we are trying to figure out is how do we manage translations when custom content is currently managed via meta fields? Will this tool have a solution for this?

Why is it so hard to find information on the work you are planning to launch? The developer’s changelog is completely empty when you click on “Scheduled Features”

Thank you! I’ve been looking to an answer to this exact question. They teased it at Shopify Unite 2021 but then we have heard NOTHING. So little that it almost seems like it’s not even being acknowledged and that it has been scrapped or completely delayed.

The current content system is completely broken. To add an image from the customization screen requires you to look through a list of images that’s in chronological order from date of update. So to add an image that’s used on another page requires wading through the list until you find it. It’s actually easier to just upload it again from your original source, but that just makes the problem worse.

At any rate, since we need help now we either need to invest in another CMS but I don’t want to do that if help is around the corner.
