I am a new Shopify user & recently did a soft launch to a few friends to test out how shipping will work. I paid for my shipping through shopify but I dont know where its being charged to… Have you found it easier for your business to have a 3rd party shipping carrier account such as USPS? HELP!!!
Thanks for taking the time to post your query here in our forums. I understand that you’re hoping for some clarity on shipping charges and options. I’m happy to help!
Based on what you’ve shared, it sounds like you’ve used Shopify Shipping to purchase your shipping labels. Shopify Shipping lets you connect your Shopify account with Shopify’s shipping carrier accounts to give you reduced rates on shipping labels. It also gives you the ability to print labels directly from your Shopify Admin.
Shopify Shipping labels and label price adjustments are charged to the credit card that’s on file for your Shopify account. If you don’t reach your billing threshold within your billing cycle, then the shipping label charges are added to your monthly Shopify subscription bill. You can learn more here: Shopify Shipping billing.
May I ask where your business is located? In the US, Shopify Shipping carriers are USPS, UPS, & DHL. If you prefer to connect your Shopify account to your own shipping carrier accounts, check out: Third-Party Carrier-Calculated Shipping Rates.
Please let me know if you have any questions! I’d love to hear more about your business and shipping needs to help determine which option is best for you.
I’m so happy to hear that. Thanks for getting back to me! I wish you all the best with your business and don’t hesitate to reach back out should you need anything else.
