Where can I find code I can use to create unique themes. There are a number of developers that share free code, but the ones i’ve come across don’t seem to allow you to use the code for commercial use. I’m looking to get access to code I can use to customize shopify themes (E.g Dawn Theme). As I do not have much knowledge of coding but I would like to create unique themes that I can sell to people that want a pre designed shopify theme.
Examples of the type of code i’m looking for is: product slider code, code to create different sections that show on mobile and desktop. wishlist code etc.
Then this is not a good business idea, major red flag, unless you have money to burn or some relevant experience like project-mgmt or design.
Making a commercially viable shopify theme takes ALOT of effort and knowledge assuming it’s not is a costly mistake.
You may be better of finding communities build around sites like themeforest etc if you want to make a business of this in this manner.
Most open source “free” shopify themes will always either be non-commercial or they wont be OS2.0 compatible.
Have you actually discussed it with those developers for a custom license, or have you just looked at the public license and given up?
Even then your going about this the wrong way, you want to either use the Dawn theme as a base making it “unique” , or find any html&js&css based ecommerce theme and then convert that to a shopify capable theme. Or find some popular CSS framework that doesn’t have a ecommerce theme and make it with that i.e. like what was done with boostrap for bootstrapify back in the day
Otherwise your basically looking for other people to tell you where unicorns are, ignoring the reality if it’s good and commercially viable then the actual developer is likely going to sell it not give it away for commercial usage.
