Luna here from Shopify. Thanks for taking the time to post your query here on our forums. I can definitely understand the importance of resolving this and I’m happy to help.
To gather a little bit more context, when you go into Settings > Legal is there an option to Replace with Template? If so, you will want to first ensure that these policies look good and are ready to be displayed on your live site. To do so, follow these steps here:
From your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Legal.
Enter your store policies, or click Create from template to enter the default template. Use the rich text editor to add style and formatting to your policies, and to add links and images.
Review your policies and make any changes.
Click Save to add your policies.
Once you’re ready, you can head to Online Store >Navigation to add them to your storefront. Without completing this step, the policies will not appear on your website automatically. To do so, follow these steps here:
Go to Online Store > Navigation
Click the name of the menu where you want to add the policy.
Add the policies that you want to the menu:
Click: Add menu item.
Enter a name for the policy’s menu item, and then search for your policy.
Click Add.
Click Save menu.

In the meantime, I’d love to hear more about your business! It sounds like you’re in the process of setting up your website, how has everything been going so far?
Thanks for getting back to me! You should be able to use the Replace with template option in Settings > Legal. Keep in mind, this option is only available for your Refund policy, Privacy policy & Terms of service. It’s not available for the Shipping policy, so you will not see the option there. If you are missing the option on one of the first three I mentioned, please share a screenshot of that with me here.
