I have been using Shopify for over 3 years and LOVED the “kaching” sound - it helped me be very attentive to my customers. For the past few months I thought my sound was off because I didn’t see the sale and was getting PMs if I got their sale. I keep checking my settings and nothing has changed there from updates. What is going on?

In this situation I’d recommend you double check that the sound setting is enabled for the Shopify app in your iPhone device settings. You can do this following the steps below. I’ve included a screenshot of these steps below as well.
- Go to your iPhone’s Settings.
- Select Shopify from the Settings page.
- Go to Notifications. Make sure you Allow notifications if they are not currently enabled.
- Enable the Sounds notification.
You’ll want to double check that your device’s sound is on with the volume turned up as well.
I also wanted to let you know about a couple of other notifications you can set up for when new orders come in. You have the option to enable new order email notifications which would email you each time an order is placed. More information on that can be found on this page. You can also enable push notifications for your phone following this guide here.
Here’s the thing I mentioned- I have had all my notifications the same since I installed the app. Every sale made a “kaching”. It stopped and never once had I done any changes to my notifications. I know my
Phone updates from time to time and perhaps your app needs an update because the chime is not working and my sound is on during the day.
Hi @jmackinnell . I understand you haven’t manually made any changes, but it is still best to double check that your settings are set up correctly as a first step. You will also want to make sure that both your device and app are up to date as well. If all of that has been done and your phone volume is turned up, this sound should start to work again. You can also use the other notification methods I mentioned to make sure you’re being notified when new orders come in.
Ok I worked really hard to find my own solution as I was told things like how to navigate my settings and volume when I am die hard iPhone user and did not change a thing and knew my notification doesn’t just go away when I don’t mess with my Shopify settings. Ok so the iPhone latest update includes several “focuses” personal,
work, driving and sleep. So if you don’t have the Shopify app added to chime during any focus your notifications you set will not matter! You won’t hear it. So I added to include my app during my personal, and work focus. You cannot add it for driving
