Where to input a custom code on the theme code

Hi, i’m looking to add a custom code onto my theme.
The custom code is for a banner which i’m looking to have below my front page logo.

I have the page loaded with the theme codes ready to edit but i am unsure of where to input the custom code to ensure i put this in the correct position… Can anyone help?
