Where to Put Coding on Home Page for Site Name in Google Search

Topic summary

A Shopify store owner using the Dawn theme asked where to implement Google’s recommended structured data markup for site names to improve SEO visibility. They wanted to know which code format to use and which file to modify for their store “Baby Bliss.”

Resolution provided:

  • The Dawn theme already includes WebSite structured data in JSON-LD format by default
  • No manual coding changes are needed
  • This can be verified using Google’s Rich Results Testing Tool

Ongoing concern:
Despite the structured data being present, the store owner noted their site name still doesn’t appear correctly in Google search results after approximately one year, indicating potential indexing delays or other SEO factors at play beyond the technical implementation.

Thank you so much!

Hey @babystore123

Dawn already includes this WebSite structured data in JSON-LD so you don’t need to do anything here.

The easiest way to see this is by using the Rich Results Testing Tool

Interesting! Thank you so much. It’s been about a year and that name still isn’t on Google yet. So sad
