Hi. My business is very environmentally focused and our aim is to remove single use plastic. Having said that, whilst we use compostable mailers we are not using compostable labels. Does anyone use the Hero barcode printer, the TSC Thermal Printer from Heapsgood or the No Issue shipping labels in the Dymo 4XL? Any feedback or suggestions of other products would be fab!
A major issue in the printing industry is that many printers generate a lot of waste over their lifetime. Substrate waste, toner cartridges, ink, office waste, and leftover stock all contribute to your carbon and environmental footprint. Sustainability is rapidly becoming an essential component of a company’s core values, as well as something that customers specifically search for.
You are bringing eco-friendly benefits to the industry by using sustainable printing techniques. These benefits include increased efficiency and, most importantly, a reduction in your carbon footprint. We are not only helping ourselves as businesses, but also our future, by using greener printing options.
MUNBYN thermal shipping label printer is the best available option in the market for the businesses who are willing to shift towards eco-friendly printing techniques. As MUNBYN label printer uses direct thermal technology by Japanese ROHM printer head, which does not need ink or toner.
If you are willing to purchase MUNBYN thermal printer for shipping labels then visit MUNBYN’s official store to get the one.
Hiya Rewild,
We build Shopify websites for brands and we’ve been encountering this question with customers a fair bit lately. I know your question was 2 years ago, but it’s becoming even more relevant now in 2024.
Dymo really shot themselves in the foot with the RFID chip they put into their rolls of labels, essentially locking people into using their consumables.
From the 5XL onwards, the labels have a sneaky counter built into the printer/cardboard core that won’t let you use any off brand products.
This includes the labels from Hero, Heapsgood etc.
The work around and the sustainable option that we recommend people is to use the compostable labels from Pack to the Future. They are the new kids on the block and are using the same label printer as Hero but keep the costs down by going direct to the factory and not rebranding it.
PTTF are also going to be giving away their sustainable packaging apparently, after they launch their Shopify app for freight booking.
