Which geolocation redirect apps work best for multiple online stores?

I have 2 Shopify stores, one in Europe (.com) and a store in Dubai (.ae) exact same store selling same products. (I created different stores cause I want different payment gateways and fulfillment )

I want when people from Dubai or GCC countries land on the .com website to be redirect to the .ae website.

I have been reading about geolocation apps but many say they don’t work efficiently and sometimes the pop ups don’t come up. and that if you choose to stay in one location u can’t then find a way to move to the other store (in case you not familiar with the different domains).

A developer I spoke with recommended doing it through Cloud (redirect by Country IP), which then blocks completely the main .com website. and forces people with the dubai Ip address to stay of the .ae website.

I wanna ask if anyone can recommend any specific app they are happy with.

Also if someone has used the cloud option if they are happy with it.

That’s a good question. This is something I’ve commonly done with non-shopify projects.

Effectively, you would want to ask a specific API “what region is this user coming from?”

There are some concerns over hindering load time. The best way would be to load the site immediately, then query the API in the background, then potentially redirect the user if necessary. It would be better than preventing the entire site from loading before the right redirect, but it would have the tradeoff of potentially “flickering” while a user transitions from one app to another.
