Which is better for product page videos: YouTube or Vimeo?

Hi!

I am experimenting with video in my product listings, and I am trying to figure out the following:

  1. Is hosting via Youtube or Vimeo better

  2. Is it aesthetically more pleasing to have the video in product images or embedded in the product description on the right side (an example of both can be seen in my test product at https://oneblushingbride.net/products/copy-of-small-embroidered-monogrammed-initials-name-or-date-to-wedding-veil?_pos=1&_sid=1dafbf72f&_ss=r)

  3. Will my product load faster if I have the video in product images or embedded in the product description on the right side?

I appreciate any and all honest feedback about anything - whether it is about design, loading time, etc. Thank you!

Great questions!

If you want to improve your SEO, go for YouTube (but stop the auto suggestion at the end of the video). Otherwize Vimeo is better.

I did succefully add GIF on my product description. I also add videos in the product description but recently created the “My Stories” app to add more aesthetic video on Stories format.

This may depend of the lazyloading part of your Theme. But I think there are no difference. The main part is how the video plateform is handling the streaming and there are both doing a great job.
