Hello.
I’m a freelancer in the UK and work from home. As such, I have rented a virtual office to use as my public business address to protect my home address. However, I’m confused on which of these addresses will be public.
There’s “business details” and “store contact details”. I assume the latter will be public, but the former confuses me on if I need to put my actual home address there (eg for Shopify billing purposes or other legal purposes) or if that can be my virtual office address, and if this address will even be visible to my customers (via email receipts etc).
Essentially, I am asking which of these addresses (“business details” and “store contact details”) will be public information. I am also asking if the “business details” address can be my virtual office address, or if that has to be my home address. And, if it does have to be my home address, will that be public? What can I do to avoid that and protect my privacy?
Thank you.
Hi, thanks for posting here.
“Store contact details” are usually public and can appear on your storefront and customer emails.
“Business details” are mainly for internal use like billing and payments, and are not typically visible to customers.
To protect your privacy, use your virtual office address in Store contact details and keep your home address only in Business details if needed.

Thanks for the quick response
So to clarify; the address under “business details” is NOT public and will never be seen by my customers?
Yes, that’s correct — the address under “Business details” is not publicly shown to customers. It’s mainly used for internal purposes like billing, payments, and legal verification.
Customer-facing information comes from “Store contact details,” so that’s the address your customers may see. @DragoDDS
