Who can view my blog posts and how to expand the reach?

When I make a blog post, who exactly is the viewing audience? Is it only web site visitors who view the blog page, or does it include newsletter subscribers too? If only page visitors, is there a way to expand that reach?

Thanks!

Hey Steve,

You can show and use blogs however you’d like. They are certainly optional, and I don’t come across them very often (we manage 25+ stores for clients).

To answer your question, the viewing audience is anyone who clearly sees it on the site, and there is something interesting enough that would make them want to click (a hard task for small stores these days). Website visitors would see it, yes, but the only way for newsletter subscribers to see it is by sending them an (enticing) email showcasing your blog.

Here are some reasons why you’d want to blog, and perhaps this answers your question about expanding reach.

  1. Content marketing: eCommerce stores can use their blog to share valuable content with their customers and attract potential customers through search engines.

  2. Product information and education: Blogs can be used to provide detailed information about products and how to use them, helping customers make informed purchasing decisions.

  3. Customer engagement: Blogs can be used to engage customers through comments, feedback, and other interactive features.

  4. Brand building: Blogs can help eCommerce stores build their brand image by showcasing their values, personality, and expertise.

  5. SEO optimization: By regularly creating and sharing high-quality blog content, eCommerce stores can improve their search engine ranking and drive more traffic to their website.

Hope that helps; best of luck on your eCommerce journey!

Hello @Steve_Hopkins ,

This is Gina from flareAI app.

The audience for a blog post on a Shopify store will be primarily visitors to the store’s website who navigate to the blog page.

However, you can expand your reach by promoting your blog post through other channels in the following ways.

  1. Including a link to the post in your store’s newsletter and send it to your subscribers.
  2. Sharing the post on your social media accounts.
  3. Adding internal links to the post from other pages on your website.
  4. Using targeted advertising to promote the post to your target audience.
  5. Optimizing the post for search engines to increase its visibility in search results.

By promoting your blog post through multiple channels, you can reach a wider audience and drive more traffic to your store’s website.

Let me know if you have any questions.
