Who updates expired SSL certificates on websites?

Topic summary

A user encountered an SSL certificate error (NET::ERR_CERT_AUTHORITY_INVALID) when accessing a Shopify-hosted website from a work computer with strict security settings. The error indicated the certificate expired on June 26, 2023, with a current date of April 4, 2023.

Resolution:

  • The user ran an SSL checker tool (sslshopper.com) which confirmed the certificate is valid
  • The issue appears to be isolated to the local work computer rather than a server-side problem
  • Other computers can access the site without issues

Conclusion:
This is likely a local configuration issue on the work PC rather than an actual expired certificate. The strict security settings at the workplace may be causing false certificate validation errors.

Hello
On another computer I am getting this error when trying to connect to the site. Why is the expired and who is responsible to have these certificates updated? Domain is hosted with Shopify. I can access the site on other pcs but the one at work has stricter settings and if anyone else has these setting it would stop them from looking at the site. Any help would be greatly appreciated. what sent her via the chat
