Who would like Shopify to register for IOSS VAT? Add your name below

As a small UK business, the costs associated with the current solutions available for selling into the EU with Shopify are prohibitive.

I find it baffling that Shopify haven’t followed the lead of Amazon, Etsy, Ebay etc., who have helped their vendors enormously by registering themselves for IOSS VAT and are collecting and paying it for their vendors on EU transactions.

Why can’t Shopify do the same?

If you’d like Shopify to register for IOSS VAT, please add your approval below, and hopefully enough people will get their voices heard and push Shopify into doing the right thing.

I absolutely agree with that!! It would be so perfect if Shopify do like Etsy! I find that I have no advantage to open my shopify store since I can not sell to european people…I made all the steps to register to OSS and finally I had to close my account because I had to open a bank account in their country…too much complicated for a mini-tiny company like me!

Absolutely, Shopify should do this. They market themselves to startups and small businesses, but their (lack of) service on this issue is leaving small businesses with very few options, and none of them affordable.

Unfrotunately it is not possible even from the legal point of view. Shopify is not a Marketplace like Etsy, Amazon etc. Marketplaces (or Electronic interfaces) are responcible for taking IOSS responcibility. Shopify is a technology E-commerce platfrom they are not involved in your sales. So it is up to you to register. We can do it for free :slightly_smiling_face: (www.easproject.com)
