Hi @Umairmajeed

Thanks for reaching out here and welcome to the Shopify Community.

I understand that you signed up to a free trial on Shopify on the 26th January, and are now noticing charges on your account and wondering why. I’d be happy to help clarify this situation for you.

Unexpected charges like this are certainly not ideal, so I can totally understand why you would be feeling this way. While in the past there was indeed a free 14-day trial being offered on Shopify, currently the free trial period is 3 days and has been for several months.

As you can see, this is outlined on our pricing & plans page here. The free trial period on Shopify is 3 days and not 14 days. After your free 3 day trial is up, you would be required to select a paid plan in order to continue your store.

At the top of the page above you will also see a banner that mentions you can enjoy 3 months of Shopify for $1 per month on select plans. After your 3 day free trial is up, and after proceeding to the pick a plan page, you would have been given the option to select either the Starter or Basic plans for $1 USD/month for 3 months (after this 3 month trial extension period is up, you are required to pay the full price for your selected plan as normal).

Can you confirm if you saw this option, and also confirm if you have selected a plan - if so, which plan did you select? You mentioned reversing the bill - as per our terms of service here, we do not offer refunds. However, we understand that sometimes mistakes are made. Feel free to reach out to our support team using this link here, and one of our support advisors can take a closer look at your account and we can try to accommodate you as best as we can.

Dear sir,
I dont want to use so kindly decline my bill and deactivate my account.
Regards

Hi @Umairmajeed

Thanks for getting back.

I am sorry to hear that you want to deactivate your Shopify account. Besides the free trial misunderstanding, was there anything else that you were finding challenging or overly difficult when building your store on Shopify? Perhaps I may be able to offer some assistance or point you towards some helpful resources. We’re always open to feedback from our merchants, so feel free to share your experiences - we are constantly striving to improve the platform for everyone.

Here on the Shopify Community I am unable to access your account, so I cannot close the store for you. However, by following along with the instructions on this page here you can close the store from your admin. The basic steps involved are: navigate to the Settings > Plan section of your Shopify admin and then click Deactivate store and follow the following prompts.

If there are outstanding charges on your account then you may run into issues when trying to close the account. In that case, I would recommend reaching out to our support team by using this link here and explaining your situation. We will do our best to help you out and guide you with getting the store closed.

Something to be aware of: if you need to keep anything from your store such as products, customers or your theme etc. then it is important to download/backup these things before closing the store. Once the store is closed then you will not have access to your admin unless you re-open the store by choosing a new plan. The various considerations to be aware of before closing are outlined on the instructions page linked above. If you change your mind within 2 years, your store data will be intact and you can simply log back in and select a new plan.

Hi @Umairmajeed

Apologies for the delay in replying to your followup message. I am sorry to hear about your stressful situation, that is certainly not ideal.

I understand that you wish to deactivate your account, however as I mentioned previously I am not in a position to be able to assist with that directly here in our Shopify Community Forums. We cannot access your account or take any action on your behalf - however we can provide advice on the next steps to take.

If you are unable to follow the instructions provided in my last reply, then you should reach out to our support team directly as soon as possible. If you contact us via this Help Center link here, we can access your account and take a look at the options available to you.
