Why am I getting a 404 error after switching my domain to my online store?

Hey! I had one of those under construction apps connected to my domain. This morning I switched my domain so that it was connected to my actual online store, it says connected but when I try to visit my site I’m getting a 404 error page and the URL ends up going to the under-construction URL. Can anyone help me fix this?

I have a few questions to help diagnose the issue:

  • Was the app connected through Shopify or a different platform?
  • Is the domain managed through a third-party provider or is it managed through the Shopify admin? (i.e. where can you edit the DNS records)

Thanks for getting back to me!

The app was through Shopify: Easy Coming Soon App

My domain is through Shopify as well.

Everything looks good but it’s just not working, I’ll send screen shots of my DNS settings page and also a screenshot of where I end up when trying to visit my site from a separate browser.

Pulling from the app’s FAQ:

In your store admin dashboard of your Shopify account, go to Online Store > Themes.

On your live theme, select Actions > Edit code.

Select theme.liquid file from left menu bar. Delete the line of code, {% include ‘easy-coming-soon’ %}, and click Save.

Goto snippets, delete the file ‘easy-coming-soon.liquid’.

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! I WAS SO STRESSED AND YOU JUST SAVED THE DAY!
