I have recently started building my store on cause and build plan. the domain I wish to purchase is easily available but whenever I try to buy it. it simply says ‘server error’ and nothing else. I have tried the general solutions of clearing cache , restarting the browser et cetera but nothing helps.
If anyone has been facing the same issue as me and have found a solution do let me know. thank you much appreciated
Ensure your device and browser are both up to date. Clear your cache and cookies. After this, completely restart the browser before attempting to purchase the domain again. Try to make the purchase using another device or browser (you can also try an incognito or private browser) Costco Employee Site
If you’re still having issues after following the local troubleshooting steps that Deborah suggested above, you can reach out to our live support team for further help. If there was a problem causing the domain to fail the purchase attempt from your Shopify admin, our team should be able to help you purchase the domain from our end.
To get in touch with our live support team, you’ll need to login to your store via our help centre here. Once logged in, select a topic that best fits your query or situation. From there, you’ll be taken to a page with the heading ‘Contact support’, and you can scroll to the bottom of that page to select your preferred contact method with our team.
Once you’ve successfully purchased a domain for your store, you can also think about setting up a custom domain email address. This will allow your business to appear more professional as well as strengthen trust with prospective customers. While Shopify doesn’t currently offer email hosting natively on our platform, if you’re just starting out I recommend taking a look at Zoho Mail as they have a free plan available. Otherwise, Google Workspace is also a commonly used provider for hosting custom email addresses.
