Why am I getting add to carts but no sales on my new ecom store?

Hi all - I am new on my ecom journey; I just opened up my first store last week. I started running some facebook ads for the first time, and I seem to be getting quite a few add to carts (15+), but not yet any sales. The research that I have done states that this is because a lack of social proof, however, I have installed many different reviews and trust badges on my site, so i’m not sure what else I can do.

Ive linked my site here. If anyone has any thoughts on what the cause could be, or recommendations to fix it, I would appreciate it.

(I do understand the store is very bland and general in nature. My plan is/was to use this as a general store, test products, and then transition them into niches with a paid theme. I get that this may be playing a role as well.)

It is really difficult to pinpoint right away the reason why you are getting customers abandon the cart. Here are a few common issues:

-Look into Google analytics, especially the bounce rates & time spent on the website. Do general visitors drop off the moment they visit the site? or they drop off after browsing few pages? How many pages do they browse before bouncing? What is the abandoned checkout rate?

  • Oftentimes, customers drop off due to high shipping costs, lack of trust, etc. As you said, having a social presence is very important to build a reputation in the first place.
  • Potentially, ads don’t target the right audience. Getting site visitors is not the same as getting quality visitors, that are not only interested in your product but also are willing to pay for the product(s).

The list goes on and on.
