Why am I getting an 'Add to Cart' error on Dawn Theme?

Hi

I have an issue when trying to add items to cart I get the following error

Something went wrong.

What happened?Parameter Missing or Invalid: Required parameter missing or invalid: items

What can I do?

Can someone help me please

I use Dawn Theme and I’ve not changed anything recently :disappointed_face:

I understand that you’re experiencing an issue with adding items to the cart, you’re using Dawn theme and haven’t made any changes. You’re seeing the following error message Something went wrong. Parameter Missing or Invalid: Required parameter missing or invalid: items.

Could you advise if you recently installed any new apps on your store? Oftentimes, apps can inject script within the theme. liquid.

To help rule out any theme issues I’d like you to try the following troubleshooting steps:

Troubleshooting Steps:

  • Adding a free theme to your Theme Library and testing out the add-to-cart option with the new theme. This can help determine if the issue carries out on a fresh unedited theme.
  • Rolling back your theme code to an earlier timestamp can identify the date/time when the .liquid files have been edited. Navigate to your Online Store > Themes > Actions > Edit code section and try rolling back your theme code.

Since you are using a free theme from Shopify you may be able to receive support for your theme. If you’re on the Basic Shopify plan or higher, then you can use up to 60 minutes of free design support, used in 15-minute increments. I recommend this option if you’re still receiving the same error message after trying the above troubleshooting steps.
