Why am I getting an 'Order couldn't be retrieved' error on my iPad Shopify app?

We use the Shopify App (not the POS, but the green admin app) on an iPad on a regular basis. Today, while trying to view recent orders, I got this error:

No orders would load. Work around was simple - head over to my desktop computer login to Shopify from Chrome, and process the fulfill the orders from there. I’m guessing it’s something that’ll clear up on its own but I’m curious if anyone else has experienced this before and if they had to do anything to resolve it? My staff using the iPad to fulfill pickup and shipping orders, which is much more convenient than them using my computer in my office.

Thank you,

M.

I have the same problem here. It seems that other users have also this problem too. I think it’s a general bug. I hope it will be fixed quickly.

Hello @MargueriteJ !

This issue occurs on the mobile version of the app only as a result of inputting an invalid character in the tracking number on the order, usually copying and pasting from a different program that has formatting, for example Microsoft Word.

The workaround for this is to access the order on desktop (as you have done) and then edit the tracking number on the order to not have any additional characters. This will allow the order to open as expected on the mobile iOS app.

On a side note, it’s great to see so many orders being placed on your store! What kind of products are you selling? I would love to hear a little bit more about your business.
