This is just a quick question before asking the bigger/main question. For now I am just trying to test importing a product with a variant.
I have read many posts regarding my error, “Line 2-5: Validation failed: You need to add option values for Size.”
Some answers reference a Default Title as one of the fields that has to be filled in. My import sheet does not have this field.
I have tested with only the Option Name and Option Value for the parent line, which gives me the error, above.
When I fill in the Option Name and Option Value for the child line, I get a different error message: Line 2-5: Validation failed: The variant ‘11oz White Ceramic Coffee-Tea Mug’ already exists.
Thank you for the screenshot and the description of your issue. One thing I noticed in your example image is that you have 2 products, with 2 variants each and you have an “Option1 Name” (Size) for both the products but only one of each of the variants has a “Value” (11oz/15oz).
If a variant option is applied to a product then all variants of the product need to also have a value.
Thanks so much Shay! I believe you got me closer to the solution. I may not have followed your instructions properly. I added a “value” to both and now I have the other error that I noted in my initial post, "Line 2-5: Validation failed: The variant ‘11oz White Ceramic Coffee-Tea Mug’ already exists." Again, I suspect I did not follow your instructions properly.
